The Ritual Tavern

Ritual TavernAfter hearing about this new place via Liar’s Club, Matt and I finally got around to checking it out. Located at 4095 30th St in North Park, The Ritual Tavern is a pretty nice place. Actually, a lot nicer than I expected. It has two areas: a small bar area, with access to an outdoor patio, and a more formal “dining” room, complete with candles and white tablecloths. Pretty fancy schmancy for a tavern!

The beverage list is fairly expansive, including local brews, imported bottles, and even some wines. Ritual Tavern FoodAll the taps are local: Stone, Ballast Point, Alesmith, Port, Green Flash, etc. The bottled list runs the gamut from your basic lambic to a 10.5% belgian dark quad style ale to an all-natural, gluten-free amber. There is a lot a variety and lots to try. I went with the Alesmith “Li’l Devil.” Delish.

The food here is exceptional. While the menu is small, there’s a good range of omni, veggie, and vegan fare. It’s mostly simple, comfort food with organic, local ingredients. They even make their own ketchup! After onion rings and burgers (a handmade veggie one for Matt), we were too full for dessert, but the Stone Smoked Porter Shake sounds intriguing. Maybe next time….
